Roberto Ovilla Martínez, hematologist and head of the Department of Hematology and Transplants at Hospital Ángeles Lomas, presented a detailed assessment of the reopening of the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, highlighting that this event represents a significant strengthening of high-specialty care in the country.

The specialist explained that the opening of the unit was met with great interest from hematologists in Mexico City and different regions of the country, who recognized the importance of having updated infrastructure to care for patients who require complex procedures and close follow-up.
Dr. Ovilla Martínez pointed out that the reopening became a clinical and academic meeting space, in which the commitment to expand collaboration networks and to guarantee medical care with high standards of quality and safety was reinforced.
The center linked to the NMDP promotes the availability of cells for patients in Mexico and around the world.
He detailed that, in addition to the unit, the work of the Volunteer Donor Collection Center was strengthened, in alliance with Hematológica Alta Especialidad and the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), considered the largest registry of voluntary donors in both Mexico and the world.
